MANUFACTURED IN WADEVILLE, JOHANNESBURG
BUTT WELDING TO ISO 21307:2017
The largest single hydro transport delivery in the HTPS record: approximately 137 km of combined tailings and return water pipeline, engineered, manufactured and delivered as one integrated system for a major platinum operation.
HDPE lined steel construction with SLUR-e-JOIN™ flange-to-flange jointing throughout, manufactured as 18 m spools in Wadeville and installed with full HTPS Field Services supervision covering bore alignment, stub mating and controlled bolt torquing.
The system carries the mine’s entire tailings stream to deposition and returns process water to the plant, replacing higher cost conveyance alternatives for the life of the operation.
Return water conveyance from tailings storage back to plant for a deep level gold operation, specified in HDPE lined steel to eliminate the corrosion failures experienced on the previous unlined line.
Delivered with the standard HTPS fittings set: 5D long radius bends at 15, 30 and 45 degrees for optimised flow characteristics, plus custom laterals at the booster stations.
Complete lined piping package for an in-plant abrasive slurry circuit: 650 HDPE lined spools plus the full fittings set of bends, T-pieces, reducing tees and laterals, fabricated with CSP Engineering in Wadeville.
Uniform standard fittings contained cost and accelerated fabrication, with factory refurbishment now running as an ongoing maintenance plan for the circuit.
Factory based refurbishment of a corroded sewer rising main: old lining stripped, pipes relined to specification and returned to site under the HTPS collection and delivery programme.
The maintenance plan alternative saved the metro the capital cost of full replacement while delivering new pipe performance on fast turnaround.
