Hydro transportation, engineered end to end.

Hydro transportation is the cost-effective movement of bulk solids over distance by pumping material through a pipeline, using water or another liquid as the transport medium. As orebody grades decline year by year and cost pressures mount, it is the innovative alternative to conveyor and rail systems, and HTPS leads the field.

Systems

Hydro transport systems

HTPS has carried out hydro transportation projects for a number of Southern African platinum, gold, copper and diamond mines, and collaborates with consulting engineers on hydro transportation projects all over the world.

The transportation of corrosive or abrasive slurry in the mining, industrial and municipal markets will lead to rapid failure if the correct solution is not implemented from the outset. SLUR-e-JOIN™ connections combined with engineered HDPE lining merge the inherent strength of steel with the visco-elastic properties of polyethylene.

Jointing

SLUR-e-JOIN™ jointing

Our most current offering makes use of a precision pre-machined embedded HDPE stub, butt welded in accordance with ISO 21307:2017. The bolted solution creates a flange-to-flange joint that is superior in pressure and load capability, and requires no gaskets.

SLUR-e-JOIN™ is completely compatible with any other HDPE or rubber lined jointing system: it joints perfectly with HDPE flat face stub or O-ring HDPE stub interfaces and bolts directly onto full face rubber, with gaskets applied to partial rubber surfaces where needed.

Fittings

Engineered fittings range

HTPS provides a simple yet specialised fittings solution that contains cost and accelerates fabrication: a combination of four standard fittings providing uniformity and consistency across the entire pipeline.
